How much do creators earn per 1,000 views in India?
Most Indian creators earn almost nothing directly from Reels or Shorts views. Brand money is where the income is, but flat-fee deals usually go to big accounts. Pay-per-view campaigns change that: any creator can post for a brand and get paid for every verified view.
Do Instagram and YouTube pay per view in India?
Instagram does not run a permanent per-view payment for Reels in India, and YouTube Shorts revenue sharing depends on joining the YouTube Partner Programme and on ad revenue in your audience's countries. For most creators with small or mid-sized audiences, platform payouts from short videos are small or zero.
That's why brand campaigns matter. Instead of waiting for a platform bonus, you get paid by a brand for the views your video earns.
How pay-per-view campaigns work
A brand sets a rate per 1,000 views (often called CPM) and a total budget. You pick the campaign, post a Reel or Short on your own account following the brief, and submit the link. After a short verification hold, you're paid for the views that pass the checks.
- Rate per 1,000 views: set by the brand and shown upfront on every campaign
- Caps: most campaigns cap earnings per video and per creator so the budget reaches more people
- Verification: views are checked for bots and bought traffic before payment
- Payout: straight to your UPI ID, with TDS deducted where the law requires it
What rates look like
Rates vary by category, language and city. On our platform, local campaigns commonly pay around ₹30–₹60 per 1,000 verified views, and national campaigns set their own rates. Across the wider Indian market, published pay-per-view rates range widely, from about ₹10 to ₹100 per 1,000 views depending on the campaign.
A quick example: a Reel that earns 40,000 verified views on a campaign paying ₹45 per 1,000 views earns 40 × ₹45 = ₹1,800, before TDS and caps.
Five ways to earn more per video
Your earnings depend on views that pass verification, so quality beats volume.
- Hook in the first two seconds: retention is one of the strongest signals both for the algorithm and for view verification
- Post in your audience's language: regional-language campaigns often have less competition
- Pick local campaigns in your city: your followers are the exact audience the brand wants
- Never buy views or use engagement pods: bought views are detected and rejected, and can get your account suspended
- Build your trust tier: clean payouts unlock higher caps and shorter holds
